We’re Focused on What Matters Most Right Now in Greater Orlando

At Junior League of Greater Orlando we live in the moment. To us, that means adjusting our focus according to our community’s most pressing needs. Our work is always evolving, and that keeps us on our toes, striving for progress, and preparing to take on whatever comes next.

Our current community goal of eradicating poverty and food insecurity can be achieved by doing training women as civic leaders, supporting local organizations through our Community Action Team, and advocating on the local, state and federal levels to advance our causes. So far we have done increased the number of formal civic leadership trainings and hands-on volunteer opportunities with community programs, partners and community organizations to achieve this, and are working to foster new relationships with community partners such as the New Image Youth Center and Images of Glory.

Our goal is to help Greater Orlando women develop civic leadership skills through the work they do, then put those talents to work in the communities that need it. Our current focus of achieving food security and eliminating poverty gives women opportunities to grow, while positively impacting the communities where they live and work.

The Junior League of Greater Orlando offers so much more than local volunteering opportunities! Our League of leaders creates real change by advancing social activism-focused projects that directly benefit the communities of Greater Orlando. By giving women the tools to lead, educating them about their communities’ needs, and helping them put their unique brand of creativity and skill to work, the Junior League of Greater Orlando is making a big impact on Greater Orlando.

We’re Transforming Greater Orlando Communities By Challenging the Status Quo

No matter what we’re currently focusing on, Junior League of Greater Orlando’s work centers around improving our local communities through effective action and leadership. We have identified Eradicating Poverty & Food Insecurity as the most pressing issue in our community right now, and we are helping local women take action to resolve it. So far this year, we have prepared meals at the Ronald McDonald House, hosted food drives with Second Harvest Food Bank and volunteered at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. We believe that these impactful actions have the power to bring us closer to our goal of improving the health, hunger and poverty of our local community.
