Membership Requirements

Membership Criteria

The Junior League of Greater Orlando (JLGO) is an organization of women committed to developing civic leaders and creating meaningful community impact. Women who are interested in leadership development, volunteerism, and community engagement are welcomed into a supportive network dedicated to lasting change in Greater Orlando.

Any woman is invited to join the JLGO who seeks to develop her civic leadership potential and meets the following requirements:

  • A prospective member must be at least twenty-one (21) years old by the start date of the Provisional Program.
  • A prospective member must reside in the Greater Orlando area.
  • There is no maximum age to join.

Active Membership Requirements

JLGO Active Members participate in an annual membership experience that includes:

  • Annual membership dues
  • A year-long placement assignment
  • One volunteer shift (DIAD)
  • A $200 annual fundraiser obligation
  • General Membership Meeting attendance
  • One elective requirement

Provisional Membership Program

The JLGO Provisional Program is designed to introduce new members to the League’s mission, community impact, leadership opportunities, and member experience.

Provisional Members complete:

  • Four (4) JLGO Provisional Education Sessions
  • One (1) volunteer shift (DIAD)
  • Attendance at one (1) General Membership Meeting (GMM)

Upon successful completion of the Provisional Program, members transition into Active Membership. New Active Member requirements are prorated based on the time of year the member becomes Active.
